Nick Gervin

Nick Gervin, born in 1981, is an established photographer hailing from Portland, Maine. Despite facing two traumatic brain injuries and battling Post-Concussion Syndrome daily, Nick’s resilience as a disabled artist fuels his prolific creativity. His journey with the Bakery Photo Collective (also known as the BPC) began upon the collective's return to Portland in 2017, where he consistently contributed his time and expertise in various capacities, from administrative work to conducting his street photography workshops and so much more. Nick’s commitment to advancing the collective’s mission led to his election as President of the BPC on March 20, 2023, after serving on the Board of Directors for several years.

Nick’s photographic prowess extends beyond local borders, with his works gracing the pages of esteemed publications such as Street Photography 2015, Aint-Bad Magazine, The Huffington Post, Eyeshot Magazine, and The Washington Post. His debut monograph, “PORTLANDERS,” published by Photo Editions Ltd in November of 2022, stands as a testament to his unique vision and struggles with recovery.

Beyond accolades, Nick remains dedicated to his ongoing long term photographic projects like “American Cemetery,” “Autographs,” and his “State of Maine” series, demonstrating his enduring commitment to capturing the essence of life here in Maine and Portland specifically.
